Crikey Adventure Tours invites you on our Wildflower Tour, which is a photographers delight incorporating the mystical Pinnacles and New Norcia – Australia’s only Benedictine.
The Pinnacles are in reality wind carved limestone Pinnacles varying from less than 1 metre to over 3 metres high. They were formed 25 to 30,000 years ago from the deposits of shell left behind when the sea receded. Time, erosion and the winds have combined forces to form these Pinnacles. When viewed against their background of golden sand, it is reminiscent of ancient ruins.
New Norcia is famous for the Benedictine Order. The historic settlement was founded by Dom Rosendo Salvado on 1st March 1846 and the church still contains the tomb of Dom Rosendo Salvado. This church is the oldest Catholic Church still in use in WA.
There will be time to have a look at some of the historical sites including Abbey Church, St Gertrudes Church with an opportunity to visit the museum housing artefacts and priceless pieces from Popes and Royalty.
