Adventure Tours Australia - 3 Day East Coast Explorer will leave you in awe with its stunning beaches, thriving forests and panoramic sights from the top of towering granite mountains, learn about our colonial past at Port Arthur and admire the rich magnificence of the Tasman Peninsula.
Day 1: Hobart to Bicheno
The 3 Day East Coast Explorer begins north along the historic Midland Highway, passing various colonial inns and quaint villages. Making a stop in Ross, where you’ll see Australia’s oldest convict built bridge, we’ll also see the infamous Ross Bakery which is well-known in Japan and those in the ‘know’ will be on the lookout for Kiki the witch! Continuing through the changing countryside of heritage farms, rainforest and mining towns, we spend the afternoon at the remarkable Bay of Fires. Tonight we stay at in the seaside township of Bicheno. After dinner, you’ll have the opportunity to see little penguins nesting.
Day 2: Bicheno to Port Arthur
Hike spectacular Freycinet National Park for extensive views of Wineglass Bay and beyond. You may choose to trek on to Wineglass Beach from the lookout or for those more courageous; a climb to the top of Mount Amos. Travelling south to Port Arthur, we’ll stop to enjoy a rainforest walk along the way. Tonight, take the spine chilling Port Arthur Ghost Tour for a glimpse into Australia's convict past (own expense). We stay the night at Port Arthur.
Day 3: Port Arthur to Hobart
We’ll spend this morning exploring the Port Arthur Historic Site and take a boat cruise around the harbour. Next, we visit Remarkable Cave and a range of other spectacular coastal sites on the Tasman Peninsula on our way to Hobart.
