Summerland Surf School was established in 1997 by Simon and Lorraine Freeden to encourage and teach surfing to all ages, nationalities, fitness and skill levels in a supportive environment. Our aim is to give you a fun, safe, uniquely Australian surfing experience which will leave you with a good knowledge of surf safety and personal satisfaction of learning new skills.
Regular classes are held at Evans Head. Surf safety (safe place to swim & surf, rips etc) is included with every lesson. Our local beaches are beautiful but we must understand how to use them in a safe, sustainable way.
All lessons are conducted by professional (fully accredited with Surfing Australia), friendly, supportive coaches. Our coaches are locals who surf regularly along this coastline and use this intimate knowledge to find the best surfing conditions for your lesson.
Head surf coach, Simon, is a Level 2 coach which qualifies him to train all abilities including aspiring professional surfers at the elite level. All coaches have diverse life skills and professions. Classes are available all year round and all equipment is supplied.
