Melbourne Airport at Tullamarine is the gateway into Victoria, and Melbourne, Australia's second largest city.
Although the region is also serviced by Avalon Domestic Airport, it tends to be more for the low-cost carriers, with the Tullamarine Airport hosting the majority of inbound and outbound domestic flights as well as all International air movements for Victoria.
Located approximately 20km north-west of the CBD, the Airport is a short 25 minute drive. Direct shuttles and taxis may add a little to the journey, but of course with a rental car from East Coast car rentals you can not only save time, but fit in some shopping at the DFO Essendon centre on the way.
