The Oxford Scholar is hugely popular for both RMIT students and lecturers. It's common to walk past a table in hot debate about the composition of the final eight in the AFL and then stumble on a discussion on the death of existentialism. The design of the interior facilitates this, and there are few better places to be engaged in debate than in the open-roof section on a summer's day.
The staff are always friendly and up for a chat. It's a pub in the old style: great beer, good company, comfortable suffoundings and NO POKIES!
With pool tables, a spacious interior, and welcoming glass doors that open onto the street, it is a definite lure for students and workers alike, who can often be seen sunning themselves in the seating out front.
