Westcoast Surf School is based in Torquay on Victoria’s Surfcoast. Operating since 1993, we have introduced many thousands of people to the exciting recreational activities of surfing, snorkelling and surf kayaking.

Learn to surf with Westcoast Surf School at Torquay, Anglesea and Ocean Grove. Beginner surf lessons are run every weekend from November to Easter time, and every day over the summer school holidays. We provide fully qualified, experienced and friendly instructors and the latest and safest equipment, including full length wetsuits and specially designed beginners softboards.
Westcoast Surf School services range from one-on-one private coaching (beginner to advanced), to catering for large groups of up to one hundred people. In addition to the hundreds of holiday makers who come to us to learn to surf at Torquay, Anglesea and Ocean Grove, our services are currently being utilised on a regular basis by over two hundred and fifty schools, universities, businesses and other organisations.
Learn to surf classes run at Torquay, Anglesea and Ocean Grove. We provide state of the art 'G Boards' soft malibu surfboards, body boards and a choice of steamers (full length wetsuits) or spring suits (short arms and legs) according to the season. Hoods and boots are also available for the cooler months.
Our surfboards are very stable and buoyant and ideal for beginners. They are extremely safe with no hard surfaces or sharp fins - great for boosting your confidence! We have boards in different sizes ranging from 7'6" to 9' to match your size and ability.
