Tasmanian Expeditions invites you to join our friendly tour guides on our Frenchman’s Cap Trek. The stunning Frenchman's Cap rises 1,443 metres out of the Gordon-Franklin Wild Rivers National Park.
The eastern side of the peak is home to Tasmania's oldest rock, a remarkable 300m overhanging rock wall face of Precambrian quartzite. Tasmanian Expeditions trek to Frenchman's Cap is a 46 km return voyage over varying terrain including open button grass plains and thick rainforests with steep ascents.
Amidst this truly wild area you will uncover a wealth of wildlife including many endemic bird species. By allowing five days of bushwalking and camping under the summit, we have a greater chance of visiting the peak in fine weather, with views throughout the Tasmanian wilderness including Mt. Ossa, the Arthur Range and Macquarie Harbour.
